The right definition of superfood is unknown, however this kind of food is usually famous for its one or more beneficial nutrients for our health. Chlorella and green barley are slightly different because they contain a complex range of nutrients. So, these two superfoods can give our body almost everything it needs in order to function perfectly. We can eat green barley and chlorella in the long term and we cannot overdose ourselves.
Chlorella
Algae creates the foundation of the food chain for the aquatic animals and it provides us with food that is nutritionally valuable as grasses. Chlorella pyrenoidosa was proved to be beneficial to animals as well as to human beings; this algae stands out with its large positive impact on health and its long history of consumption. Equally, there is one issue: the human body cannot digest the sturdy cell wall. For this reason, we must disrupt the cell wall so that we get the nutrient-dense content found inside the chlorella cells.
Green barley
Grasses are the foundation of the food chain for many large warm-blooded land animals, as they contain practically all the nutrients those creatures need. However, the human body is not able to digest grass fibre. We at Green Ways found the solution for this issue in making nectar by extracting the juice from young grass leaves. Nectar does not contain any grass fibre, so it is extraordinarily beneficial and easily absorbed by humans. We chose namely green barley for our production because it is the most beneficial grass for human beings. It’s similar to wheat, but its use is restricted because of its unpleasant taste.
General manager of the company Eng. Martin Zamboch published a document Standards of Green Ways quality”. In this publication, you can find out about the process of gaining ISO 9001 and HACCP certification, the history of green food, information about sensory (smell and taste) and safety analysis showing us the precise numbers of heavy metals and gluten in chlorella and green barley. Also included is a breakdown of micronutrients, nutritional value and other elements.
The company is completely transparent and the information about the whole process from the sowing of green barley up to the final products is easily accessible. Similarly, you can find out all the steps of chlorella growth, right up to its final form of powder or tablets.
You can fully trust your Green Ways advisors as they are green food specialists and they have vast knowledge about the cultivation, processing and delivery to the customer. Before launching any batch of green food onto the market, the company performs a chemical analysis. Because of this process, the company guarantees that all products contain a number of elements that are safe for the human body, as well as ensuring the highest quality and safety of green food.
Green food or superfood is usually associated with superlatives and we might sometimes think that their effects are almost impossible. Hence, we become sceptical towards this topic and our attitude can negatively change. Even though there are many studies explaining their benefits, there are still many effects which we cannot explain from a scientific point of view. Let’s have a closer look at what we know about the relationship between science and green food / superfood.
The beneficial effects of Chlorella pyrenoidosa have been proven in over 7000 clinical studies and their number is still increasing. Green barley juice attracted many physicians and scientists in the past century as it was considered the most beneficial functional food in preventing many diseases of civilization.
You can find the results of many clinical trials by searching the keywords: chlorella” or green barley” in PubMed or Google Scholar database.
The company GreenWays (GW) published a Collection of studies” in 2014, which is accessible on GW e-shop or GW advisors. Various articles and educational materials were created together in collaboration with research teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Moreover, a wide range of healthcare professionals support GW and contribute to strengthening research activities.

Generally, green food can be recommended for anybody in all situations. However, in some cases, we need to be more careful about the dosage or avoid starting to consume green food altogether.
Contraindications of green food
Allergic reaction
Excessive detox reaction which does not get better after changing the dose or length of the product
Autoimmune disease which gets worse when using green food
Stop using chlorella if you cannot consume food containing fibre (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis).
Special situations, when consultation with a specialist is needed: phenylketonuria, hemochromatosis, organ transplants.
The only way to assure a clean and high-quality product is to carry out regular analysis and controls of all steps of green food production. Many distributors think this process is demanding and costly. So, the producers play an important role in defining the quality of green food. In practice, unfortunately, the quality of green food does not often correspond to BIO or quality certification of the company.
Scientific studies proved a beneficial impact of green food on our health. However, we must ensure their safety, quality and hygiene. Green Ways products can be consumed in the long term and we can recommend them to all age groups and categories of citizens.
Examples of low-quality products:

We can sometimes find a warning sign regarding pregnancy or breastfeeding on the product labels. These products may contain chemical additives or the steps of the production may not have been properly adhered to. Low-quality cultivation or juice-extraction of green barley may result in a substantial content of grass fibre or gluten in a product. In this case, we cannot safely recommend the product to all age groups.
We should also know that some products do not always contain only chlorella. They are sometimes mixed with other algae such as spirulina.
Effective detoxification removes accumulated toxins in our body, which we breathe from polluted air or the ones which we consume in food. By getting rid of toxins in our body we alkalize our inner environment, which is a vital process for decreasing the risk of inflammatory diseases such as acne, eczema and other skin problems.
Happy hormones” for giving us a good mood truly exist and we can find them in green barley as well. Serotonin as a message carrier in the brain is responsible for stimulating a feeling of rest, depression or pain. For this reason, serotonin plays an important role in migraines.
The quality of fruit and vegetables and all other items in a supermarket has rapidly declined in recent years. Our organisms and cells do not have enough nutrients to maintain all the vital reactions in the body.
The symptoms include: tiredness, deterioration in disease progression, weakening the immune system, augmented risk of osteoporosis, worsening of mental health and brain functions.
As mentioned above, consuming green food helps to reduce the risk of inflammation by detoxifying all cells in the body. Also, green barley and chlorella boost the immune system and help the body to “self-heal“.
Vitamin B3, chrome, mangan, other beneficial elements and the complexity of green food prevent diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.
Fibre, chlorophyll, high content of potassium and other elements improve peristalsis of the intestine and help the digestive system to get rid of toxins. By improving various functions of the digestive tract, we can see regulation of digestion speed.
Because of antioxidant activity, green barley and chlorella fight free radicals, causing premature ageing as well as the development of cancer to some extent.
